Polish Praying Mantis Kung Fu Society was officially established on 12th November 1991 but trainings in Seven Star Mantis have been conducted since October 1985. At the beginning instructors were teaching under guidance of master Kai Uwe Pel from Germany, disciple of master Lee Kam Wing from Hongkong from master Luo Guangyu lineage. Since 1994 we have been practicing according to lineage of master Yu Tiancheng, disciple of master Lin Jingshan of Yantai.

The society has different branches country wide (Warsaw, Busko Zdroj, Lublin, Torun, Suwalki). Thanks to broad contacts with other organizations from China (Yantai, Jinan, Shanghai), Germany, Italy, Malesia, Singapore, Japan and Australia, Polish youngsters have the chance to improve their skills. Part of the process were regular visits of master Yu Tiancheng in Poland and since his demise visits of Polish instructors to Yantai in master's Lu Tianlu (younger brother of master Yu Tiancheng, also disciple of master Lin Jingshan) school and practicing with eldest students of master Yu Tiancheng such as shixiong Liu Xianming and shixiong Yu Lianyou. Also thanks to contacts with other families of Tanglangmen such as shifu Brendan Tunks' of Australian Tanglang Kung Fu Association visits to Poland in 2006 and 2007.

Since 2004 thanks to Polish Praying Mantis Kung Fu Society Yu family system can also be practiced in Finland. Currently three centres of our school are active there - in Helsinki (taught by Paavo Sjőblom), Tampere (Mika Perkiőmäki) and Turku (Tapani Mylly).

Polish Praying Mantis Kung Fu Society organizes annual summer and winter training camps where apart from hours of trainings there is always time for a closer look at chineese culture and philosophy and have some fun together. Our society has a very traditional approach to trainings but we also participate in sporting events.

We are:

  • member of Qi Xing Wu Guan school in Yantai (Yu family school)
  • member of International Tang Lang Quan Union in Yantai
  • member of City Boxing Association in Yantai
  • founding member of Polish Kung Fu Federation

Currently taught styles:

  • Qi xing tang lang quan
  • Yang shi taiji quan
  • Tang Lang Sanda

The President of the Society and head instructor is shifu Slawomir Milczarek - disciple of masters: Yu TianCheng (qi xing tang lang men, taiji quan, sanda), Kai Uwe Pel (qi xing tang lang quan, ying zhao pai, bai mei pai, sanda), Feng Rulong (Yang shi taiji quan), Yan Chengde (xing yi quan).
